Sam began attending Camp Hickory Hill at ten years old. As soon as he was old enough, he became a Junior Leader, then Collegian, Program Director and Assistant Summer Camp Director. In 1986 Sam was made the Summer Camp Director. Sam continued to serve as the Camp Director and beginning in 1992 also served as the Regional Director for Christian Service Brigade until 2008 when he was brought on as the Executive Director for Camp Hickory Hill.
Sam and Suzanne attend Randall Baptist Church in Williamsville, NY, where they are involved in a variety of ways. They have 4 grown children and 3 grandchildren.
Brian StebickAssistant Executive Director
Brian began serving at Camp Hickory Hill on summer staff throughout high school and college. After receiving his B.S. in Bible from Baptist Bible College, he went on to serve as Camp Director for Camp Kaskitowa in West Michigan, and as the Midwest Regional Director for Christian Service Brigade. Brian enthusiastically answered the call to return to Camp Hickory Hill in 2015 in his full-time role.
Brian and his wife, Courtney, reside in Hamburg, NY with their son, Joseph, and daughter, Jaina.
Tim BestSite Manager
Tim joined Camp Hickory Hill in 2015 as the Site Manager. Having worked for many years as a steamfitter, his first exposure to Camp Hickory Hill was through Randall Baptist Church’s Christian Service Brigade Program and Father & Son events. Tim got more involved at camp and accepted Christ through camp’s ministry and Sam Richbart. He continued volunteering at camp in several ways until he accepted the position of Site Manager.
Tim and his wife, Sonya, attend Randall Baptist Church. They have 2 children.
Mike SmithSite Manager
Mike is joining Camp Hickory Hill in 2018 as the Assistant Site Manager. Originally from Michigan, he served for seven years at Camp Kaskitowa, a CSB partner camp in west Michigan, as the Director and Caretaker. Mike’s passion to use his talents and gifts for camp ministry makes him a tremendous asset to Camp Hickory Hill.
Mike and his wife, Sarah, have two sons, Caleb and Lucas.
Kathryn GarrettDirector of Girls Programming
Kathryn is a graduate of Roberts Wesleyan College and has a background in social work. She served as part of our Girls Summer team beginning in 2006 filling roles like Activities Leader, Cabin Leader, Camp Shepherd, Girls Assistant Director and Co-Director. During that time she also served on various administrative camp committees. In 2016 Kathryn took on the part-time role of Director of Girls Programming, playing a vital role in our growing ministry to girls and women.
Kathryn and her husband, John, live in Churchville, NY. They have three adult children, Sarah, Matthew and Michelle, and a dog, Sasha.
