OPEN POSITIONS
Part-Time, Year-Round Positions
SUMMARY OF POSITION: The cook is responsible for preparing and serving food to camp’s guests. Like all positions at camp, this person is also expected to fulfill the mission of Camp Hickory Hill and cast vision of the organization to others.
ASSUMPTIONS:
1. This individual will assist guests as needed
2. This individual will be able to work independently and efficiently.
3. Available to work variable shifts as needed to meet the needs of the organization
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be 18 years or older
2. Must have reliable transportation
3. Desire and ability to serve others
4. Displays strong work ethic
5. Self-motivated and self-starter
7. Desires to be part of a team
8. Is willing to have a flexible schedule
9. Can delegate work to kitchen helpers.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Food Service Director
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To serve guests by maintaining a standard of excellence in regard to food preparation and food service
2. Follow instructions for the proper quantity and types of food to prepare for meals
3. Maintain a clean kitchen environment
4. Follow proper guidelines for commercial food preparation and food storage
5. Maintain neat and professional appearance
6. Perform other duties as assigned
HOURS AND COMPENSATION: Primarily weekend hours. Hours vary month to month depending on season and based on camp program schedule. Compensation is an hourly rate, to be discussed during interview process.
Seasonal Summer Positions
SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Camp Nurse is on-site for the duration of the week while summer camp is in session. The nurse typically serves a full week of camp and is responsible for any medical needs for campers and staff that fit in their scope of practice.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be a registered RN licensed to practice in NY state
2. Desire and ability to serve others
3. Able to commit to stay at camp for a full week, Sunday 2:00pm until Friday at 6:30pm.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To serve guests by maintaining a standard of excellence in regard to the care and cleanliness of all facilities
2. Leave everything looking better than when you found it
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Dispense medications to campers and staff who need them
2. Administer first aid when necessary
3. Keep a log of all first aid rendered and medications dispensed
4. Keep camper medical forms organized and accessible
5. Perform other nursing duties as needed
HOURS AND COMPENSATION: Sunday 2:00 pm until Friday 6:30 pm. Multiple weeks available. Weekly compensation to be discussed during interview.
