By fostering a fun, safe, and discipleship focused summer camp, we believe that there’s no better place to spend a week of summer than Camp Hickory Hill!

SUMMER CAMP COUNSELORS & STAFF

Our summer camp counselors and staff go through a leadership development process that teaches them responsibility, work ethic, servant leadership, and above all the importance of sharing their faith with others. Our counselors go through an interview and screening process, then are trained to work specifically with kids in a camp setting. Our staff strives to serve our campers with excellence, humility, love, faith, and integrity.

A complete packing list and other information is included with our registration confirmation. Typical items needed include: a sleeping bag, pillow, extra sneakers, towel, toiletries, rain gear, swimwear, water bottle, plenty of clothes (that can get dirty), and a Bible. Our dedicated food service team takes great pride in providing quality, nutritious food to all of our guests. We serve well balanced meals with care taken to make sure our menu includes foods most kids and youth enjoy. Our food is served cafeteria-style, meaning everyone is served their meals directly from our food service counters and on trays. A salad bar, rice, and soup is often available in addition to the main dish and side dishes at lunch and dinner.

Allergy Information: We do our best to accommodate food allergies. During the registration process, there is an opportunity for you to let us know if your camper has food allergies. Please communicate that with us and we will then contact you with how we can best meet your needs. We may ask that you send supplemental food for certain allergy needs.

A Registered Nurse is on site 24/7 to provide first aid and medical attention as directed by your family physician. Our Health Form must be completed by your doctor prior to camp to give us this direction.

Any child on medication will receive his medicine at the proper times from our nurse. Any illness or injury that occurs during camp will be assessed by our nurse and proper measures taken based on their assessment and any instructions on the medical form. Parents will be notified in the event of a serious illness or injury.

We encourage parents to write emails and/or letters to their child while at camp. Parents can sign up for e-camp where they can email their child and see pictures of camp activities each day. You can also send mail to your child at the camp’s address. In the case of an emergency you can contact the camp 24/7. We ask that campers leave cellular phones and other electronics at home.

Camp Hickory Hill is an inter-denominational camp, meaning we do not subscribe to any particular denominational theology, but are protestant, evangelical Christian. We teach the gospel of Jesus Christ: that God created us and loves us, that each and every one of us are sinners and fall short of God’s standard, but that God sent Jesus to die on our behalf, that He was raised from the dead, and that we can receive forgiveness and restoration with God through faith in Jesus. We teach that as followers of Christ we should be continually growing spiritually through the Word of God and through the ministry of the local church and fellowship of like-minded believers.

We do not teach specific theological topics that may vary between churches or evangelical denominations, but we do remain true to the Word of God. Camp Hickory Hill believes strongly in the role of parents and the local church in the discipleship of the individual, and we do not seek to usurp those roles.

For more information on what we believe, our statement of faith is available on our About Us tab of the website.
